KNOW MORE
ABOUT ME

I am a customer-obsessed advisor and enterprise cloud architect with broad knowledge in security and compliance who has over 15 years of cloud architecture experience in AWS, GCP, and other clouds. I learn the businesses of my clients, understands the success factors of their stakeholders, and helps them leverage technology to achieve their business objectives. I believe in collaboration because a shared mission can yield more value than a bunch of individual contributors. I also enjoy teaching and communicating and have spoken and many public events as well as publishing papers, open source, and blog posts. When I’m not doing those things you’ll find me on walking tours of new places, trying new foods, reading books, and scuba diving!

EXPERIENCE

  • Cloud Security Architect

    Google 2021-Present

I am a trusted Security & Compliance advisor who works with executive and technical stakeholders to help customers build secure deployments that enable their digital transformation on Google Cloud Platform. I work with sales teams and technology partners to unblock opportunities and help move deals towards closure. I also support our product teams as they look for ways to address emerging challenges faced by our customers.

  • Customer Engineer, Application Modernization

    Google 2020-2021

I worked with the sales and partner teams to introduce Google Cloud to customers who are powering the emerging technology economy - where the success of their business and their external reputation is directly tied to our Google Cloud platform. I helped prospective customers and partners run pilots, explain technical aspects of solutions, and resolve roadblocks.

  • Security Solutions Architect

    Amazon Web Services 2018-2020

I worked with AWS customers to help them understand cloud computing security, compliance, and risk management best practices and design infrastructures with security controls. I also developed blog posts and other technical content. I co-led the Builders’ Fair at our first AWS re:Inforce conference where we selected teams from around the world to demonstrate their projects. I gave presentations at our New York and San Francisco lofts and spoke at summits.

  • Enterprise Solutions Architect

    Amazon Web Services 2016-2018

I helped enterprise customers build applications at scale. I worked directly with some of our largest customers to enable innovation through continuous deployment across technology stacks. I was responsible for designing and building architectures and providing prescriptive guidance across a variety of disciplines including network, storage, operating systems, content delivery, caching, databases, and security.

  • Solutions Architect

    CenturyLink 2012-2016

I was responsible for the technical sales support for all CenturyLink Technology Solutions products and services including: managed hosting services, cloud, virtualization, outsourced infrastructure solutions (managed and unmanaged), specialized application suites. I prepared customer presentations, architectural designs, bid responses, and provided training to the sales team.
